Current Position
Jingqiu's research focused on the population genetics of foodborne pathogens using whole genome sequencing, and the ecological and evolutionary mechanisms shaping the biogeography of foodborne pathogens.
When she was a rotating Microbiology graduate student, she worked with Dan Weller to study the geospatial, environmental and seasonal diversity, and phylogenetic network of Listeria populations in NYS. Her research interest is microevolution and ecology of bacterial pathogens.
